What We Do!
If you are considering engaging EVLAG to consult with you or your family, you certainly want a clear understanding of the services we provide. To best understand what we do, it is important to (1) understand our motivation and (2) understand what we cannot or will not do.
Our Motivation
The foundation of EVLAG consists of professionals from not only the legal industry, but also from the care industry, specifically skilled nursing and assisted living. We saw on an almost daily basis, families needing care and assistance who simply could not afford it. Generally, they were unaware of their eligibility for VA benefits that could help absorb some or all of these expenses. Our mission is to ensure that anyone seeking care thoroughly understands their eligibility so they can make informed decisions when acquiring care.
What We Don't Do
We are not an elder law firm. We do not provide assistance with estate planning, Medicaid planning, final documents such as wills, durable power of attorney, or set-up of trusts of any kind. Neither do we engage in any form of financial planning, sales of insurance products such as annuities or provide financial advice. We will not engage in helping claimants hide wealth from the VA to unethically and illegally create artificial eligibility for Pensions. This type of activity clearly circumvents the clear intent of the law to provide a minimum degree of financial security for wartime veterans and their families. Not only is such activity “wrong” but also you are increasingly likely to be caught in a VA audit and forced to repay all of your benefits!
What We Really Do
Okay, enough negativity! Let’s talk about the positive side! Our goal is to provide you with accurate, dependable information regarding your VA entitlements. We navigate the legal process for you and through the following steps assist you in getting the maximum benefits you are rightfully entitled to.
We accomplish this mission through a simple, four-step process:
Just how we do this is the subject of our next tab! See you there!

- Education – Up front, we are going to help you understand exactly what VA benefits may apply to you and how the entitlement process works.
- Evidence – Next, we are going to make sure we can obtain exactly what evidence is needed to prove potential eligibility before the VA in the shortest amount of time possible. We will not recommend proceeding with a benefits claim unless we can obtain the relevant and material evidence to prove that eligibility.
- Representation – The VA insists that an attorney who represents a veteran must do so completely, thoroughly and professionally. EVLAG prepares all of the claim paperwork and evidence for you as a Fully Developed Claim. Decisions on a Fully Developed Claim can be expedited under the Expedited Claims Adjudication Initiative. [38 C.F.R. 3.161]. We then present your claim to the proper VA office and then proactively prosecute the claim with the VA. We do not stop prosecuting the claim until it is properly awarded.
- Availability - Finally, our staff is going to be available to you indefinitely to answer any questions or concerns you may have about your entitled benefits throughout the entire process, start to finish!
